1. What is a tracker?

We use several kinds of tracker. The six main types are explained below. This list covers every category we use, although which ones appear depends on how you use the site.

A) Cookies

B) Pixels

JavaScript is a programming language. It can be used to write trackers that, embedded in a page, let us measure how you interact with our site and with others.

D) Software Development Kits (SDKs)

SDKs are pieces of code provided by our digital vendors — third-party advertising companies, ad networks and analytics providers — to collect and analyze certain device and user data.

E) Device identifiers

Device identifiers are user-resettable identifiers made of numbers and letters, unique to one device and stored on it. They are used to recognize you or your devices on, off and across different apps and devices, for marketing and advertising.

F) ID synching

To decide what kind of ad might interest you, our digital and marketing vendors sometimes link data — inferred from your browsing of other sites, or collected from other sources — using a method known as ID synching or cookie synching.
